2018 Sponsorship

BYFL Sponsorship Letter Final 2018 (002)

The Brenham Youth Football League is a non-profit organization for youth football. Our goal is to develop well-rounded young people who learn the fundamentals of football in an organized, supervised environment with emphasis on maximum safety, and the importance of education, in an atmosphere conducive to developing sound mind, body and character. Additionally, the Brenham Youth Football League will inspire youth to practice the ideals of good sportsmanship, scholarship and personal integrity.

We invite you to partner with us in achieving these goals through sponsorship. Your donations assisted and will assist in paying for league insurance, referee fees, equipment, uniforms, and coach training.  It is only through the generosity and support of our local communities that we are able to fund this valuable youth program and keep registration costs manageable for families.

You may be interested to know we will again be partnering with USA Football to be a Heads Up certified league. With coach, parent, and player training we look to provide the next generation of football players with the knowledge and skill to be safe and aware players. Along with the Heads Up training, coaches will be required to pass background checks and certification courses to provide our players and parents with a safe and enjoyable experience.

We thank you for your time and consideration in becoming a Brenham Youth Football League Sponsor and we invite you to come out in the fall and watch a game.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Is this full contact football?

Yes, we are part of a very competitive Lone Star Youth Football Alliance with full contact. All Coaches in BYFL are required to complete Heads Up Safety Training though USA Football.

  1. How long is the season?

First practices will start around the last week of July and continue into November. If a player is selected for All Stars those tournaments go into December.

  1. Will we practice once the season begins?

This may be different from what you have done in soccer and baseball but football is a commitment. You will be part of a team with everyone knowing their position and role. Players wil be required to be a part of at least two practices a week and possibly another short walk through or agility. Failure to attend practices will result in less playing time during the game.

  1. Where are the games?

Home games will be played at Hohlt Park in Brenham. There should be 5 home games and 5 road games. Road games include possible games in Huntsville, Magnolia, Montgomery, and Navasota. Playoff games may be in Humble or North Houston Areas as well.

  1. What is included in my registration fee?

For football, the $175.00 fee pays for use of league helmet(Riddell Re-certified) and shoulder pads for the season. Player will keep jersey and integrated football pants at the end of the season. We strive to provide a good and safe experience for the kids, which cost money for safe and reliable equipment. Many of the surrounding leagues charge over $275.00 while asking for all of the equipment to be purchased by each player.

Remaining funds will be used for referee fees ($150.00/game), field use fees ($5.00/child), league insurance, and entry fees to end of year tournaments ($250.00/team).

6. Is there a playoff or Super Bowl winner?

The Tournament of Champions is the end of season “playoffs”. In this system, teams with similar records are grouped together for a weekend tournament format. Example: A Platinum bracket may contain 10-1, 9-1, 8-2 teams while a bronze bracket has teams 3-7, 2-8, 1-9. This gives teams who faced tougher competition during the season a chance to be grouped with teams of similar records to end the season.

We expect the best from our players both on and off the field. We want them to succeed in all aspects of life. We welcome any input from parents and teachers relating to the conduct of our young people in the classroom and at home. There are only a few kids who will play football as a career but a much larger percentage that will grow up to be leaders in the future. The greater goal is to see each one of these young people become men and women who will make a difference in their families and communities in the future.

7.  How old does my child have to be?

The age is based on the child’s age as of July 31, 2018 ( player must be at least 5 and up to 12 years of age as of July 31, 2018).

Divisions and Age(for football)
Freshman- 5 and 6 years old
